Meet Rao Akhtar Hussain

Chief Instructor · Paragliding, Hang-gliding & Power-gliding

Few people in Pakistan have spent more time in the air. Rao Akhtar Hussain is among the country’s most experienced and qualified instructors across paragliding, hang-gliding and power-gliding — a rare command of all three sports of free flight.

Two decades as Chief Instructor at a leading private adventure company, and two more in service with the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT), where he trained thousands of Army and Navy personnel and civilians of every kind. Many of the pilots he taught now run adventure clubs of their own. When you launch with Let’s Fly, that’s the calm, hard-earned expertise holding your lines.

STUDENTS SAY

Learning to fly, in their words

“Yesterday’s training was an incredible experience. Paragliding felt out of reach before ๐Ÿ™‚ so I’m really grateful to be learning it here. What I enjoyed most was that moment when the air lifts you up — such a freeing feeling. It is also a solid physical workout. Looking forward to the first flight, inshallah. Thanks to all the instructors and fellow members for the support.”

Jowad ยท Islamabad

“Alhamdulillah, I completed my second training session yesterday, and it was another excellent learning experience. Every session is increasing my confidence and helping me understand the fundamentals of paragliding in a structured and practical way. The ground training has been both enjoyable and challenging, and I’m looking forward to progressing towards my first flight.”

“I would also like to express my sincere appreciation for Mr. Rao Akhtar Hussain. He is an exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and highly dedicated instructor. His patience, calm approach, and attention to detail make every lesson easy to understand, regardless of a student’s experience level. He places great emphasis on safety, proper technique, and building confidence step by step, which creates an excellent learning environment.”

“I feel fortunate to be learning under his guidance and look forward to continuing the training. Insha’Allah, I’ll be ready for my first flight soon.”

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions before you jump

Do I need any experience?

None at all. On a tandem flight your certified pilot handles everything โ€” you just run a few steps at launch and enjoy the ride.

Is it safe?

Paragliding is an adventure sport, but you’re in good hands: our head trainer is a retired military-officer pilot with 35 years of flying, we use quality equipment, keep batches small, and hold to strict weather limits. We’ll postpone rather than fly in conditions we don’t like.

What are the weight and age limits?

We typically fly passengers roughly 25โ€“110 kg and ages 12โ€“70. If you’re outside that range, message us โ€” it often still works with the right pilot and wing.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, and closed sports shoes or trainers (no sandals). Bring sunglasses and a light layer โ€” it’s cooler in the air.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first. If conditions aren’t flyable we’ll reschedule you to the next good window or refund your advance โ€” your call.

How do I book and pay?

Message or call us on WhatsApp at 0340 5599901 to check availability. A small advance confirms your slot; the balance is settled on the day. We’ll share payment details in chat.

How long does it take to become a pilot?

The Advance course runs over 10 days with 30โ€“40 flights across Mang, Darwaza and possibly Chakwal. Complete it successfully and you earn a recognised paragliding pilot licence. The Basic (3-day) and Intermediate (5-day) packages are great stepping stones if you’d rather build up gradually.

Is the pilot licence fee included in the course?

The licence fee of Rs 11,000 is separate and is paid on successful completion of the Advance course. Once licensed, you can buy your own glider and fly with the club โ€” together or independently.

Do I need my own equipment?

No. We provide quality, inspected equipment for tandem flights and throughout your training. Many pilots buy their own glider once they’re licensed and want to fly regularly with the club.
